How to Measure You and Your Dog
When ordering a custom leather dog harness, it is important that we have accurate measurements so that your harness fits correctly. For best results, use a soft flexible measuring tape such as those used by a seamstress. For all measurements, pull the measuring tape snug. If you do not have a cloth measuring tape, you can use a piece of string and then measure the string with a rigid ruler. It usually works very well to take the same measurement three times and then average the three measurements. This can provide a better measurement than simply measuring once. If you have any questions about measurements, do not hesitate to call us at 1-405-701-2707 and we will help you. Please provide the following information:
- Girth -- The circumference of your dog just behind the front legs where your dog's chest is the deepest.
- Length The length of your dog from the base of the neck to the base of the tail.
- Height -- The height of the dog from the floor to the top of the shoulder.
- Weight -- The weight of the dog.
- Sternum to shoulder: The distance from the point of the sternum, to the space on the top of the dog's back between the shoulder blades.
- Breed -- The breed of the dog.
- Age -- the age of the dog.
- Sex -- The sex of the dog.
- Fist to floor -- Hold your arm in a relaxed manner at your side and make a fist. Measure the distance from the center of your fist straight down to the floor.
- If applicable, which side does your dog work on, your left or your right?
